Make sure your gum paste/fondant has enough tylose in it to make it a stiff consistency. It will be easier to work with if it not soft and sticky.
As with any flower, make sure you roll out your fondant as THIN as you possibly can, trying to keep one edge straight.
On a thin pad, take your Dresden tool and starting from the center, while pushing down, pull towards you.
Do this all the way down your piece. You want it to ruffle up
Your piece should look something like this now.
Now run some glue down the piece but not up on the ruffled area.
We are going to roll this up now but remember make sure your piece is lined up straight on the ruffled side. Now, fold over the fondant on the end to create the center.
IMPORTANT.....As you roll, make sure to only press below the glue line, and keep your top straight!
We should look like this now. Roll your piece to tighten the area under the flower. I roll it small enough so I can place it in the tip so I can finish working n it.
Using the pointy end of your tool you are going to work all the edges down now.
Depending on how you will use these little flowers, I either cut them off on the bottom or I roll the bottom out so they have a stem. You can always cut the stem of later.
