Trace the cupcake template onto your choice of colored paper or on the outer edge of a paper doily.
Cut along your tracing and glue edges together to make the wrapper.
Tips:
Before tracing the template, check to make sure it is the right size for your cupcakes. You can easily trim the template so that it only wraps around the body of the cupcake and doesn’t cover the icing.
You can use either cardstock or regular paper—just keep in mind that cardstock will require a stronger glue to hold the wrapper in place.
You can also use decorative edge scissors on the outer edge of the cupcakes and embellish your wrappers with various paper punches. See the accompanying slideshow for various cupcake wrapper ideas.
